Numerous formidable leaders contribute to the rewarding nature of the gameplay in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. The heightened level of challenge they present adds an extra layer of satisfaction when overcoming them. Notably, the Sea Spider boss takes this challenge to an even higher level, showcasing unparalleled aggression and resilience. This boss represents the pinnacle of difficulty encountered thus far.

If you're seeking guidance on effectively defeating this imposing mechanical adversary and securing a triumph, you've come to the correct resource. What follows is a comprehensive analysis detailing the strategy to conquer the Sea Spider boss in Armored Core 6.

Sea Spider Boss: General Encounter Tips

The Sea Spider is a mechanical spider infused with Coral, equipped with a rapid barrage of laser blasts capable of melting through armor. The Sea Spider's vast array of weapons and its intricate attack angles enable it to disintegrate even a heavily armored AC with just a couple of strikes. The strategy for defeating this boss hinges on two factors: your choice of legs (and weapons) and a solid understanding of the boss's timing and phase transitions.

To make this fight more manageable, the key lies in using the spider-like VP-424 tetrapod legs. These legs not only facilitate easy hovering, aiding in evading Sea Spider's missiles, but also provide ample support for heavier weaponry. In terms of armament, we recommend equipping your mech's R-Back Unit and L-Back Unit with Songbirds, potent Grenade Cannons. Utilizing both simultaneously significantly fills the boss's stagger gauge in one go.

Additionally, you can combine this approach with the RF-024 Turner to sustain stagger damage when the boss is staggered, close in using your Pulse Blade. Alternatively, the 10-cell missile launcher can provide consistent stagger damage over time, offering flexibility in your configuration.

Sea Spider Strategy Tips:

The boss is split up into two distinct phases characterized by the boss's attack pattern and aggressiveness. During the first phase, the Sea Spider will frequently ascend into the air and then descend, launching laser shots at you throughout this stage.

Your strategy here involves getting up close and consistently deploying your missiles and Songbird cannons while evading the lasers. This approach, when executed always, will cause the boss to stagger repeatedly. Following a stagger, move in close for melee combat and promptly conduct plasma sword strikes.

Although these melee attacks don't yield as much damage compared to other bosses due to this one's considerable health pool, remember that this fight is endurance-based. Through testing, we found this to be the most effective method. With practice, you should be able to reduce its health to around 40 percent without significant difficulty, triggering its second phase.

During this subsequent phase, the Sea Spider will ascend into the air and rain down laser fire upon you. Maintaining an aerial position is essential to track its movements, all the while keeping a safe distance to evade the laser onslaught.

Continue to employ your Songbird and missile rounds to fill its stagger meter. Upon achieving a stagger while the boss is in mid-air, seize the chance to approach closely and execute further plasma sword strikes and missile attacks.

Whenever feasible, aim to position yourself above the boss after it recovers from the stagger. This tactic allows you to inflict damage without the burden of evading incoming attacks. As its health dwindles, be cautious of its desperate maneuver: the Sea Spider initiates an intense and frustrating spinning red laser melee attack, resembling a Beyblade or spinning top.

Similar to many of its airborne assaults, evading this exceptionally lethal move requires maintaining distance. Boost away whenever it approaches even remotely close while capitalizing on opportunities to fire your rounds and missiles. Once the spinning concludes, revert to your hit-stagger-melee-and-retreat strategy until the boss is defeated.
