FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WZTV) — Arrest affidavits for a Tennessee soccer coach accused of raping boys detail his alleged effort to recover the evidence which led to his arrest.
Camilo Hurtado Campos is accused of drugging and raping young boys. Police have identified three of the 10 victims, and five others have also come forward following his arrest.
Campos, who has also been found to be in the country illegally, was captured after leaving his cell phone at a pizza restaurant in Franklin. According to the affidavits, an employee was given the cell phone Campos left behind and opened the phone in an effort to identify who it belonged to.
When the phone was opened, the employee saw images of a man engaged in sexual activity with children.
The next day, Campos came back to the store and asked if anyone had found a cell phone, leaving his phone number with an employee.
The employee took photos of Campos' vehicle and police were contacted by the employee. Officers used the photo and found the vehicle was registered to Campos. Police say Campos admitted to detectives he was the owner of the phone, knowing what it contained.
A police spokesperson told CNN that there “could be a decade of victims."
